If you’re anything like me, your skin knows when you’ve been eating all the wrong things. And for better or worse, there is no magical serum anywhere that can undo the effects of a bad diet when it comes to your skin.
Thankfully though, this means that if unhealthy food can have a negative effect on our skin, healthy foods can do the opposite!
So here’s the good news: you can eat your way to better skin. Here are a few of the foods you should eat for skin that’s young, bright, and fresh!

1. Walnuts

Due to the high saturation of omega-3 fatty acids, walnuts are great for increasing your skin’s collagen production. This, in turn, leads to the skin which is plumper, as opposed to the thinning that tends to happen with age, and a lot more youthful.
Suggested recipe: Apple Walnut Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette

2. Pomegranates

Ever heard of polyphenols? They help regulate the blood flow in your skin, and you can find them in abundance in pomegranate seeds, making them the perfect way to get your glow on! Sprinkle them on your salad or throw them into a smoothie or bowl.
Suggested recipe: Avocado Toast with Pomegranate Salsa

3. Meat

Go lean on your meat, but don’t be afraid to have it every now and then. These meats contain zinc and iron among other useful minerals, and can help stimulate more cell production, so that you get brighter skin!
Suggested recipe: Rosemary and Garlic Roast Beef

4. Avocado

Avocado is good for most things – but I bet you didn’t know it’s good for your face! Their fatty acid content helps them to reduce skin redness, revive your damaged skin and leave you with fresh, dewy skin.
Suggested recipe: Creamy Avocado Pesto

5. Carrots

The vitamin C this stuff packs is pretty impressive, not to mention useful for reducing acne and minimizing dark spots – that’s pretty good going for rabbit food!
Suggested recipe: Roasted Carrots and Red Onions with Fennel and Mint
