It can be tempting to feel as though in order to really take care of yourself properly, you need to spend a whole lot of money. This isn’t the case, promise. All you need is a little time and creativity to give yourself the kind of love and attention you need.
This is how you do self-care on a budget:
Believe it or not, your body needs exercise in order to feel good. It doesn’t have to be anything too intense, it could be a simple as a few stretches, a walk, or some yoga. Just get moving in a way that leaves you feeling good.
You know what all those celebrities are drinking when they go to the spas? Sparkling water, vegetable and fruit juices, that sort of thing. Why not do the same? Take a week or two off if alcohol, soda, and fruity concentrate drinks. Keep things natural for a week and see how much better you feel.
Most of us do not get the amount of sleep our bodies truly need. But it doesn’t have to stay that way. Craft a real nighttime routine, and do your best to actually get the hours of sleep that you need. Try it for a week or even a month, and see if you can feel the difference in your energy levels and cognitive function.
It’s not at all practical to demand you give up your phone for an extended period of time, but it’s definitely doable to leave it alone for an hour or two. Read a book or a magazine, just lay down and listen to music, cook a recipe from a recipe book, play with your kids. Leave your phone for just long enough that you can forget you have it. It’s a wonderful way to free and clear your mind.
