Ever stopped to think that it might be what goes in your mouth and not in your hair that matters when it comes to keeping your hair healthy?
While there are definitely a whole host of products that can help improve the quality and appearance of your hair, it’s definitely a whole lot better to think inside – out.
Here are a few of the things you can do to improve your hair on the outside:

1 – cut it every 6-8 weeks
2 – take regular breaks from treatments, tools, and products
3 – wash your hair with lukewarm water; higher temperatures lead to dryer hair and more washed out color

So what about the inside? What should you eat and drink for healthy hair?

For hair growth – you need vitamin A and vitamin C, and iron; eat spinach, you need protein and biotin; so eat eggs, and you need collagen; vitamin C in berries helps produce collagen

For hair strength – elastin helps to keep your hair supple, and it also helps to stop it from breaking; eat walnuts to make your hair stronger, you’ll need silica to prevent hair thinning; eat apples, cherries, oranges, and seeds

For hair shine – you want omega-3 fatty acids; eat fish like salmon, mackerel, and sardines. Some studies have also found that taking fish oil supplements increases hair growth, and you’ll also want beta carotene; so eat more sweet potatoes

Which of these healthy hair foods should you be adding to your diet?
