So, calories…

At the very core of your eating habits is your energy requirement. The number of calories you need is highly personal and I figured it’s time we explain how we calculate your daily calorie goals in Lifesum.

Hang in there! I know it’s a lot to take in, but the main thing I want you to know is that you need your calories! What you don’t need is to be afraid of them. Contrary to what many might think, calories (‘calories’ is just another way of saying ‘energy’) are the foundation of our wellbeing. It’s important that we provide ourselves with enough energy to feel strong and vibrant day in and day out. The second most important step is making sure that the energy, or calories, are coming from good quality food sources, but we can talk about that another time.

This might be very basic for some, but it’s always worth repeating. The more people we can reach about the importance of not being scared of calories the better.
