Toast with Scrambled Tofu

Do you miss scrambled eggs? Make almost the same with tofu. Tip: Add some kala namak (black salt) for a taste which is similar to egg.

Ingredients

4 servings

  • 1 3/4 pounds firm tofu
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 4 tbsp Nutritional yeast
  • 4 slices Rye bread
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Chopped chives

Instructions

  1. Use a fork to crumble the tofu.

  2. Add oil to a frying pan, fry for a few minutes on high heat, add the turmeric. Season with salt and pepper.

  3. Fry for a few more minutes.

  4. Top with nutritional yeast.

  5. Roast the rye bread and serve.

  6. Garnish with chives.
