From Cross-training and Tabata to gardening or walking — it all counts. Track activities in the Lifesum app for iPhone and Android and see how many calories you burned.
To automatically track calories burned, you can connect your Lifesum account to Apple Health, Google Fit, Samsung Health, Runkeeper, Fitbit, Moves, Jawbone, and Endomondo. You can also log activities manually by choosing an activity in our exercise list and enter the duration of the activity. Lifesum adapts your daily calorie budget after logging a workout, meaning if you move – you should eat a bit more.
If you choose automatic tracking and use an exercise tracker during your workout, the calorie count is as accurate as it can be with today’s technology. The calorie count in the exercise list is an estimate of what the average person burn. However, the calories burned varies depending on your body composition (how much body fat and muscle you have).
Yes and no. To lose weight, you need to create a calorie deficit and eat less than you consume. The most pain-free way to do this is by eating a healthy diet with enough nutrients to keep you full and satisfied, combined with some exercise. There are however some things to consider. The more you exercise, the hungrier you become, meaning it will be more painful to sustain a calorie deficit. Also, if you burn much more than you eat, you risk losing muscle mass which is of great importance for your health, metabolism and look. When signing up for a Lifesum account, we’ll guide you on the perfect daily amount of calories to reach your goal.
Commonly tracked activities and how many calories they burn:
|Walking, 3mph (5km/h)||30 min||57 kcal|
|Biking, medium intensity||30 min||160 kcal|
|Swimming, medium intensity||30 min||201 kcal|
|Hiking||30 min||189 kcal|
|Lifting, free weights, heavy||30 min||167 kcal|

I love this app! It has so many features and great advice. With the different meal plans and exact calorie counts, this app was perfect for me.
I can’t believe all the options in the food diary there are. Like, even generic food options from my local grocery store. I like the food plans it has an option, it has synced to my Fitbit, and has been user friendly. I’m excited to see how this plays out. I’m always a skeptic, but off to a great start!
This app has helped me gain muscle and lose fat. It can be a little tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, you will find yourself reaching your goals faster and with more ease. One of the only fitness apps I’ve kept using
