I LOVE coffee. I tend not to overdo it for the most part, but one cup in the morning is my favorite treat.

Coffee has a number of great benefits already:
It helps to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes
It prevents cavities (when consumed without milk or sugar)
It increases metabolism

But I’d be lying if I said that’s why I drink it, for me, it’s all about the power of waking up. All that said, there are ways to make your coffee even better. Here are a few of our favourites:

1. Make it bulletproof

It takes just five minutes. Blend your cup of regular black coffee with 2 tbsp of unsalted butter and 1 tbsp of coconut oil or MCT oil for improved focus, stabilised gut health, and increased strength.

2. Spice it up

Adding cinnamon is a great way to add antioxidants to your diet. Studies suggest that it helps with lowering cancer risks and boosts the immune system.

3. Make it a mocha

The addition of unsweetened cocoa seeds will help lower your blood pressure and balance your cholesterol.

4. Plump it up

Collagen. Buy it in powder form and add it to your coffee. Reported benefits include: a healthy protein boost, hydrated skin, and better joint health.

5. Add shrooms

Yes, mushrooms. It’s a thing people. Adding powdered mushrooms to your coffee is said to help improve your creativity, productivity and focus, and jumpstart your metabolism. Not bad for a simple cup of coffee!

What do you add to your coffee?
