In my first year at university, I skipped breakast. Yup, you read that right, I skipped breakfast for an entire year. I’d have a mug of instant black coffee (gross) filled with sugar (gross again) and then I’d run on that all day until around 4pm. Was I insane? Who skips breakfast?!
Breakfast is the first meal of the day – why would anyone want to skip that? Time is definitely a factor, and I know that better than anybody, but it shouldn’t stop you starting off your day with a plate, bowl, or cup full of nutritious deliciousness – especially if it looks as good as any of these do! Check them out!
Literally everything Jeanette makes looks incredible. She always uses non-processed foods, nuts, dairy, and vegetables for a filling, but tasty AF meal. This breakfast contains roasted butternut squash, vanilla yogurt, chia seeds, sprouted walnuts, manuka honey, organic honey crisp, cinnamon and chocolate almond butter!
Ella Mills is a three times best-selling author and ultimate eat good feel good ambassador. She just launched a line of energy balls, and if any o her previous endeavours are anything to go by, they’re guaranteed to taste incredible. In this breakfast she has porridge topped with a fruit compote, homemade granola, coconut chips and almond butter.
If you hadn’t already heard of Chinae, you can thank us now. She’s maybe more of a fitness blogger than a food blogger, but when she posts food it tends to look like this *cue heart eye emoji*. This whole 30 breakfast contains figs, apples, blueberries, blackberries, goji berries, persimmon, coconut and mint leaves – talk about a mouthful!
Isn’t it beautiful?! Alexandra, author of inmybowl.com always makes the most beautiful food! We love how this mama keeps it real, makes wholesome healthy foods, and isn’t afraid to indulge in the odd donut. For this breakfast she used rolled overnight oats soaked in almond milk, cacao, coconut, maple blueberry compote and nut butter.
Lee is an LA-based recipe developer and for stylist, so don’t be put-off if your images don’t quite look like hers, but know that they will taste incredible! This is the only savory breakfast on our list, but with a twist, they’re oats! Yup. Here’s what’s in there oats, hemp milk, sea salt, turmeric, avocado, zataar, kraut and egg.
And all of a sudden I find myself counting down the hours until breakfast…
