Fisherman with fresh fish on the fishing boat deck

Ever reheated codfish in the microwave? Here’s my advice: don’t.

It smells. It smells bad.

That is probably though, the only real downside to fish; that, and the fact that when you handle it the smell sticks to your hands. Fortunately, there are upsides to fish. Here are a few of our favourites:

1. Omega 3-fatty acids

Fish are great sources of omega 3 fatty acids and can:

Lower your risk of heart disease

Reduce inflammation

2. Vitamin D

Vitamins A and B, Vitamin C, Vitamin D? Vitamin D  helps you maintain strong bones and teeth, supports cardiovascular health and lung health, and regulates insulin levels

3. Taste!

Fish is great because it can be eaten hot or cold (hello lox!), it can be in a burger or a bagel, you can have it in soup, or breaded, and you can have it for dinner or breakfast (or lunch!)

Now, go fish!
